Last Saturday, thirteen-year-old Mariam had the best day of her life. She won a school competition, and the prize was a day at a film studio in Muscat. Her uncle, who works there as a make-up artist, took her in the morning. First, they watched the actors film a scene from a new children's series. Then the director smiled at Mariam and asked her to say one short line in the next scene! She was so nervous that they filmed her line four times before it was perfect. After lunch, she met the camera operator and the costume designer, and they showed her their amazing work. At the end of the day, the director gave her a photo with the whole team. Mariam has put the photo on her wall. She says she will never forget that day, because it was the day she decided to work in films when she grows up.
